How To Get The Look – An Opulent Wedding Style

You know when you know the outcome you are after but you’re not sure of the middle steps to take to get it there? Well that’s what my series of “how to get the look” blog posts are all about. In each post we look at the colours and details that you could consider to achieve “the look”.

Today’s look is opulent.

Opulent wedding styling is luxurious, over the top, full of drama, and it makes a statement.

Drama is created with the mix of shades of reds, purples and a range of pinks. Your eye is certainly drawn to the strength of these colour combinations.

Texture provides an extra dimension and an addition of luxury with a fresh orchid at each place setting, a textured gold sequin table cloth and the use of silver goblets and rose bowls.

Scale and contrast is important in an opulent design. The height of a single candelabra floral pomander contrasts with the  clusters of low gold effect mercury glass votives and tea light holders that host flickering candlelight.

Now think of this x10 in a grand ballroom, a modern gallery, or a clear marquee setting and you have an opulent wedding style.
